Rockford is located in north-central Illinois, just south of Wisconsin, halfway between Galena and Chicago.Rockford life centers around the Rock River. It brings people together for events such as the Illinois Snow Sculpting Competition, Fourth of July Festival, Ski Broncs Shows, Rockford Art Museum Festival, Scottish Highland Games, On the Waterfront, Music in the Park and Festival of Lights.
